The hand
Common Indian Rummy uses 13 cards. The player draws a card and discards a card during a turn. Check the version’s dealing procedure and turn order before beginning.
Combinations
A sequence contains consecutive ranks of the same suit. A set contains matching ranks in different suits. A card should not count towards more than one group.
Declaring
In the version described by Pagat, a completed hand requires at least two sequences, including one without a substituted joker. The remaining cards must also form valid combinations. Specific modes may use additional requirements.
Before your session
Confirm deck count, joker selection, declaration controls and scoring. Use the exact rulebook or current app instructions instead of assuming that every format is identical.
